A key electricity provider required access to a wooden pylon located in a remote farmers’ field for essential maintenance. The site presented several challenges, including uneven terrain and dry ground conditions, which made access difficult for heavy maintenance vehicles. A durable and stable roadway was necessary to prevent ground disturbance and ensure safe and efficient access for the duration of the works.
Our Solution
After assessing the site, Grassform recommended and installed 500m of TuffTrak heavy-duty trackway. TuffTrak was the preferred choice due to its high load-bearing capacity, ability to handle uneven terrain, and its non-slip surface, ensuring safety for vehicles and personnel.
The trackway was installed over two days, creating a secure access route from the nearest roadway to the pylon location. This temporary roadway remained in place for five weeks, supporting ongoing maintenance operations and allowing unimpeded access throughout the project.
The Outcome
By implementing TuffTrak trackway, Grassform ensured that all maintenance work was completed on schedule, with no access issues or delays. The electricity provider was able to carry out essential repairs efficiently, and once the trackway was removed, the field was left undisturbed and ready for agricultural use once again.
