Grassform HD Duel sided ultra-strength roadway solution

Grassform HD is an engineered heavy duty temporary roadway made of Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Polyethylene (UHMWPE) and reinforced with  fibreglass to give the perfect balance of strength and flexibility.

A maximum allowable 205.1 tonne force is calculated to be the limiting factor when the panel is exposed to a single contact according to US regulations with soils of CBR 10.

The maximum calculated inclination at which the panel can be placed at without the risk of slippage is found to be 30° for pedestrians and 32.9° for vehicles.

Compression Testing

The testing was carried out on an Instron universal test machine i4505 fitted with a 100kN load cell (UK1210, calibrated until 16/11/2022 and class 0.5 according to BS EN ISO 7500-1:2018). The specimens were placed between 250mm stainless steel platens, and compressed at a speed of 5mm/min up to 100kN. The derived stiffness can be converted to an equivalent Young’s modulus of 1.53±0.06 GPa. Using these values, a maximum stress of 32 MPa is calculated without observing any failure which is used as the yield limit.
