Our client needed an access road and a large site compound for storing machinery and site offices while reinstating a rail siding with over 40,000 tonnes of stone to be delivered to site.
Solutions Provided
The client had previously relied on aluminium track systems, a traditional option in the UK. However, we introduced them to a superior alternative: 4 00 Grassform HD overlap panels. These panels provide the same strength as aluminium systems but feature overlapping edges and a 10-point locking mechanism. This design significantly reduces mud seepage and minimises the theft risk of aluminium, offering a more reliable and secure solution.
Challenges and Solutions
The project site, located in a large valley, is prone to flooding. Additionally, with over 1,000 tipper lorries delivering stone, there was concern that the soft, wet ground would struggle to withstand the heavy loads. Our Grassform HD overlap panels have performed exceptionally well, creating a clean, stable, and safe working environment even under harsh challenging conditions, withstanding both the heavy loads and environmental pressures.
Outcome and Client Feedback
The Grassform overlap panels have allowed the client to stay on schedule even with lots of inclement weather, delivering a highly effective solution. Impressed with their performance, the client has placed a long-term orders for 600 additional overlap panels for a future project.
